Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (BSc.CSIT) affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) is four years 8-semester undergraduate course designed to provide a student a high level of technical skills in the field of Information and Technology. Currently approximately 60 Colleges offer BSc.CSIT Program all over Nepal including constituent and affiliated colleges under Tribhuvan University. BSc.CSIT in Nepal can fulfill every criterion that IT students seek, that is, a student can create their own path in the field of IT or they can continue their further study with the master’s Program in Nepal or can apply for abroad study. With an emerging carrier in Information and computing all over the World, students involving in BSc.CSIT program can fit in any sector of IT. This course is a new challenge to those with a traditional computing environment.This program develops the skills that are essential for both computer professionals amd IT specialists.
This Course is designed after research to develop skilled manpower. It is a combination of practical and theoretical bases. A practical-based and a research-based can create a great combination to develop in the field of research and in a technical field because this course is not totally practical based but also a researched-based which enable students to participate actively in problem-solving techniques. Due to its strong course contain this course is most popular among the students. Colleges offering BSc.CSIT does not only concern with generating capable and innovative IT skilled manpower but also focus on those who want to develop themselves as an entrepreneur. Many colleges encourage students to involve in finding problems in existing systems and generating solving techniques . The objective of BSc.CSIT program is to face the information barrier occurring due to the traditional structure of IT followed, also to challenge the coming generation in the advancement of IT profession. Similarly, pursue their carrier in Information and technical field through which after completion of this degree students can design and face the real word e-system and create new technical Hardware and Software solution for the current problems depending on the specification they choose. Though the main Vision of BSc.CSIT program can be:
To provide necessary knowledge about IT profession like functional knowledge of every hardware and software knowledge and solution or possibility to enhance the computer system software.
To fulfill the real-world technical knowledge required for an IT professional to handle real-world projects with a team member using different tools used in the field of IT.
To provide deep knowledge and understanding of technical programming skills, design software, and application of computers.
To develop the logical and creative programming skills required in the field of IT and to solve various types of computer and IT-related problems.
To encourage and develop students with extensive self-empowerment to grow as entrepreneurs.
To provide skilled manpower to different developing IT companies inside and outside the country.
Students should collect and submit the admission form to their interested college nearby. Generally, the admission form opens every year in the month of Shrawan/Bhadra.
No need to fill the form from different colleges, one form is sufficient to be eligible to attend the entrance exam for BSc.CSIT. More than one form can be invalid.
Grade 12 Supplementary Exam students may also complete the TU Admission Form but those students must submit an Academic Transcript Pass 10 + 2 / Intermediate Level before the entry result is published, otherwise, the results of those students' tests will not be published.
Students must have secured 35% marks in entrance out of 100% to clear the entrance exam and get admission.
The student applying for BSc.CSIT program should have the following criteria:
Students should have completed +2 level/ twelve years of schooling only in Science Stream or any other equivalent program from University, board, or institute recognized by Tribhuvan University.
Students should have scored a minimum of second Division or should have secured a c in every major subject of grade 11 and in grade 12.
One year of mathematics is compulsory either in grade 11 or in grade 12 but you have to score a C grade in Mathematics with 100 full Marks.
Students who passed A level with Physics and Mathematics of 100 full marks and passed can apply with at least a D grade.
Students who passed Diploma in Engineering from CTEVT taking Both Physics and Mathematics of 100 full marks can apply for it.
Students from the biology group can also apply for it but must have studied Mathematics in grade 11.

BSc.CSIT is one of the best IT courses in Nepal. ASCOL, Patan Multiple campuses, and Bhaktapur Multiple Campus are the main choice of students to study as these government colleges has huge competition . Every year Institute of Science and Technology(IOST) conducts the entrance exam for BSc.CSIT from which around 7000 students will apply for BSc.CSIT program from which only 5000 students will get a chance to pursue their carrier in this program. The student should score at least 35 to pass the entrance exam out of 100. There are many entrance preparation institutes for BSc.CSIT among them all an education platform Saral Shikshya which only focuses on a student to score good marks and get admission to government colleges with a highly skilled and experienced teacher. Also, publish its own BSc.CSIT entrance Preparation book for the students from which students can get prepared on their own.
Entrance Examination of BSc.CSIT contains 4 subject questions from grades 11 and 12. Physics, Mathematics, English, and Chemistry but the question of Mathematics is asked only from grade 11. Every subject contains a question of 25 marks ,1 mark for each question.

Due to high competition in this program, there is less chance to get 100% scholarship for Students. Government colleges won’t provide scholarships due to their low fees and competition. Mostly Private colleges will offer certain scholarships up to 75% in tuition fees by reviewing students’ grades in +2 and rank in the entrance exam conducted by IOST. Saral Shikshya is an educational platform that is serving students from a different aspects.
Fee structure of BSc.CSIT in a government colleges is around Nrs.2,80,000 to Nrs.3,50,000. In the case of private colleges fee structure of BSc.CSIT start from Nrs.6,00,000 up to 10,00,000. Many colleges affiliated with foreign universities have a fee structure of more than Nrs.10,00,000.
