Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM) is a 4 years course of Tribhuvan University under the faculty of Management. The course is focused to produce first and middle-level tourism professionals in the country. From a theoretical and practical perspective, BTTM comprehends the administration and operation of the travel and tourism industry. BTTM develops a very sound personality that matches the standard of the tourism industry. This course is run by only 4 colleges in Nepal with affiliation from Tribhuvan University. The BTTM program is of 126 credit hours which is executed through the semester system and evaluation is done in the grading system.

So, we can conclude that travel and tourism-related subjects have huge potential in Nepal. The BTTM program is on the priority list of many students as it covers a wide range of topics that are needed to be a travel and tour professional.

Objectives

Objectives:

This program is more focused to develop socially responsible, systematically approached, and result-oriented tours and travel professionals. 

The objectives of the program are :

• To produce first and middle-level management professionals to serve in the travel and tour industry.

• To increase an understanding of the tourism industry and its operations both theoretically and practically.

• To understand the need and functions of marketing, development, and planning in the tourism industry.

• To provide international tourist service operations.

• To help students in pursuing their further study in the travel and tourism sector.

Eligibility & Admission Criteria:

Eligibility:

Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with second division (securing 45% and above) or 1.8 CGPA from the recognized academic institutes can be enrolled for this program.

Admission Criteria:

• Students should have successfully completed the intermediate level (10+2) or equivalent with at least second division or with a minimum CGPA 1.8 in any stream or any other equivalent degree from any University/ Board/ Institution recognized by Tribhuvan University (TU).

• Must have English as a full paper (200 marks) in 10+2 or equivalent.

BTTM Entrance Exam

Entrance Examination Preparation:

BTTM is one of the emerging courses in Nepal. We can see a huge competition to get enrolled in a government college. Tribhuvan University conducts the entrance examination of 100 marks total in which students must score at least 40 to pass where the question is of objective type. You can find a different institution where you can prepare for the CMAT entrance examination. But among them, of all the education platforms, Saral Shikshya is the best one. Experience teacher team, best teaching and learning methodology, Career counseling, etc. are the plus points with Saral Shikshya. Also, Saral Shikshya publishes its own CMAT entrance Preparation book for the students from which students can get prepared on their own.

Exam Pattern:

Broadly speaking, eligible applicants are required to appear in the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management under Tribhuvan University. Altogether 100 objective questions will be there in CMAT containing twenty-five questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks.

Students must secure a minimum of 40 marks in the CMAT to be selected for a group discussion and for the interview. After group discussion and interview, students are selected for the admission process.

Admissions of the students will be strictly based on the merit list. Merit list is prepared based on:

1. 60 marks of CMAT Entrance examination

2. 30 marks of marks secured in percentage in plus two or equivalent

3. 10 marks Interview

Talking about the fee structure it varies from college to college. Based on the infrastructure and resources provided the fee is estimated. The fee for the BTTM course ranges from  2 lakhs to 5lakhs. Once you get the degree of BTTM, you are exposed to a wide range of jobs. You can get various employment opportunities at governmental or non-governmental, private or public sector or even you can start your own ventures. Not only this, you can work in an academic sector or you can pursue your further study after the completion of BTTM in the country or abroad. Some major jobs prospects after BTTM are:

Average Salary

Average Salary:

Travel and tour management is such a potential field where you can earn without completion of a degree if you have skills and patience. There is no salary bound for the one pursuing this degree. On average we can estimate them to be starting from NRS. 15,000/ to 1.5,00,000/- and many more depending upon the job position you hold, a company you work for or you hold, and the skills you have.
